Inclusive entrance area for the building of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine

The building is located in the central part of Kyiv, at the corner of Khreshchatyk and B. Khmelnytsky streets. The main facade faces Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street. The building has five floors with a roof, attic, and basement, and is part of the ensemble of buildings reconstructed on Khreshchatyk Street after World War II. It was built in the 1950s. The building has two volumes.

The entrance, for which the project provides for the construction of a new porch with stairs, a ramp, and a canopy, faces Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street.

Since this is the central entrance to the building, according to DBN V.2.2-40:2018 “Inclusiveness of buildings and structures,” it must be equipped with a means for the free movement of people with special needs. Given the current situation in Ukraine, this need is urgent.

In accordance with the design task approved by the Customer, the working project provides for the following types of work:

– dismantling of the existing stairs;

– dismantling of existing paving near the porch;

– construction of a reinforced concrete foundation for a ramp and stairs;

– addition of stairs with metal railings and a ramp for people with disabilities to the entrance of the building;

– installation of a metal canopy over the entrance;
